Professional Internships
If you are hoping to turn your College Program into a career, you may be considering a Professional Internship. Disney offers a wide variety of internships for every major. Internships are also available in many different locations including but not limited to California, Florida, New York, and Chicago.
The application process for Professional Internships differs vastly from that of the College Program. Each internship has its own timeline, hear-by dates, and requirements. Things applicants may be asked for include a portfolio, a transcript, or a writing sample. All applications have the option of attaching a résumé and cover letter, both of which are recommended.
Unlike the college program, most applicants for a professional internship will move into Submission after turning in their application. Applicants will move to In Progress only after a recruiter has viewed their application. Also unlike the college program, "In Progress" does not mean that the applicant will be moving forward. Applicants could be in progress for months only to receive a No Longer In Consideration. If the applicant is chosen to move forward, they will receive a brief phone screen with a recruiter. This phone screen usually covers one main internship and all others that the applicant has applied to. This phone screen is recorded and sent to department leaders that will make the decision to move forward with the candidate or not. The department leaders will choose a number of applicants and offer them a video interview. This interview will be on a platform such as Skype or Blue Jeans and usually will take place with more than one department leader. From this interview, the strongest applicants will be picked and receive an email to schedule a "brief interview" within the next few days. More often than not, this is a job offer.
