Quick Service Food & Beverage - First Hand Account
"Quick Service Food and Beverage (QSFB) is an incredibly diverse role that varies greatly by location. QSFB is also one of the largest roles, employing a massive amount of interns.
A lot of people imagine 'flipping burgers' when thinking of QSFB, and while that is sometimes the case, Disney has over 100 quick service restaurants in the parks and resorts that cover a wide variety of different items. When working QSFB you can work at a restaurant, a popcorn cart, or anything in between.
As a QSFB cast member I worked at the Boardwalk Bakery located at the Boardwalk resort and my experience was completely different than the 'flipping burger' scenario. I rotated back and forth between the bakery and Boardwalk Joe's Marvelous Margaritas and did very little actual food preparation as the bakery food was prepared by chefs. My role consisted of working the registers, pouring drinks, grabbing and boxing up the bakery items, stocking and cleaning.
QSFB has quite a negative stigma surrounding it, but I honestly enjoyed my experience at the Boardwalk. I definitely got lucky with my location! My QSFB experience was definitely different than what I thought it was going to be."
